Port Aransas is located at the northern end of Mustang Island and is accessible by 24 hr free ferry service or the JFK Causeway if coming from Corpus Christi. Access driving directions to Port Aransas.

Although once a small fishing community, Port Aransas has grown into a major tourist destination on the Texas Gulf Coast. Boasting 8 miles of beaches, excellent bay & offshore fishing and numerous shops and restaurants, Port Aransas has something for everyone.

Home to a multitude of events and fishing tournaments, Port Aransas hosts the the Harvest Moon Regatta, the Whooping Crane Festival, the Deep Sea Roundup, the world famous Texas Sand Fest and many more. Approximate Driving Times to Port Aransas

from San Antonio: 2 1/2 hrs, from Austin: 4 hrs, from Houston: 3 1/2 hrs, from Dallas: 7 hrs.

Most people make the trip to Port Aransas for the beach, but there are a variety of other things to do such as parasailing, jet ski rentals and dolphin watching. Redfish, trout, flounder and black drum are commonly caught in the bays and channels, while marlin, tuna, sharks and kingfish are prized offshore fish. Nearby Corpus Christi is only about 30 minutes away and offers numerous activities for visitors.

Want to relax and observe nature? Port Aransas is a world class birding destination, and has been named America’s “Birdiest City” numerous times. If golf is your game, Palmilla Beach Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer links-style course and was listed among Golf Digest’s best new courses for 2009.

An annual average temperature in the 70s means Port Aransas can be enjoyed year-round. So grab a fishing pole, a surf board, bring your golf clubs, or just relax with your lawn chair by the beach.
